I grew up in the smog of the Los Angeles area when our lungs hurt when we swam from breathing deeply. In elementary school we had smog alerts on the regular. We changed air quality laws and people showed up. The personal, physical experience ingrained consciousness for our environment. Now, firestorms are the biggest threats to everyone in CA. We had to start saying “fire season” and it always feels like impending doom. Be safe everyone.
